Placeholder70x70-2 Seamless Challenges
We paint so that our canvases become paintings. It aspires one day to become Art. Art helps us to touch upon the march of human progress following the course of society, history and civilization; it also reaches out to both the contemporary and the future. Any artist, deep within the process of creation is driven by this desire for attainment. The success of his creation depends upon the fruition of that desire. Sukanta is a young artist. After finishing his education from Rabindra Bharati University he has been working on his own for the last few years. His works are somewhat unique in terms of style and expertise. They are primarily figurative. Human bodies come up in dreamy moulds: like phantoms of delight and yearning. And all this is executed in a highly personalized idiom. The eternal feminine form is one of his most cherished and recurrent theme. He can visualize efficiently the backdrop of nature; the supple, exotic foliages with their intricate ornamentations and happy mind. His works exude a kind of soft, bewitching charm that attracts the viewers. The path of creation is long, difficult and beset with seamless challenges. It is full of vicissitudes and various kinds of experiences. Taught by life and nature, these experiences are to be continuously honed by the artist in his process of becoming. Sukanta is young, hard-working and imaginative. I sincerely hope that he will reach greater heights in his career as an artist and get appreciated by true connoisseurs. I hope the viewers would like this exhibition. My best wishes to Sukanta. Shuvaprasanna (Renowned artist)
