浅谈陈源初油画作品中的水墨意趣 江苏省国画院学术部研究院 刘筱 近年来中国油画家在对艺术问题的思考和实践过程中越来越强调民族文化传统的重要性,一些对中国传统艺术情有独钟的风景画家吸收传统山水画的写意性和笔墨用法,创造出了极富中国画“笔墨情趣”的油画风景画。 陈源初先生并不是一位单纯的风景画家,他的创作涵盖面广、画面内容丰富,但自然风景始终是他创作构成的一部分。在他近期的作品中,他开始吸收中国传统水墨画的某些特点,创造属于自己的“笔墨意趣”。 中国传统绘画把笔意、笔法放在很重要的位置,重视笔墨运用,从单纯用笔墨勾勒物体形象,发展为皴擦点染、破墨泼墨,来体现笔力的雄劲或秀丽和水墨渲染的变化和苍润。同时把书法和绘画融为一体来丰富表现形式,增加画面的遒劲和形式感,有效地提高了作品状物抒情与表达自我的能力。而油画则以写实见长,讲究刻画对象的实际结构和透视,在表现人物活动、活动场景等方面略胜一筹。 陈源初先生主要从以下两个方面进行了结合。 首先,以油画材料结合中国传统山水画的创作,用油画材质表达强烈的个人感受。也就是在发挥油画材质性能特点的基础上借用写意山水画的技巧来体现中国传统的审美情趣。 在作品《H401》中,画家利用油画材料的性能,以中国传统审美意识为指导作画,注重抒发主观情绪。强调“意”和“神”的表达,不拘泥于“形似”和“笔到”,有时意到笔不到、神似形不似。减弱形体塑造的成分,增强书写的因素。在绘画方式上,画家用油画笔模仿毛笔的侧锋、偏锋、中锋等笔法,运用中国画“点擦皴染”的手法;在构图上,画家以中国画的“经营位置”为原则,讲求平面布局中的色、线、形的变化对比与呼应,虚实、疏密、开合、起伏、繁简、聚散的 相生相应,画面空间处理趋于平面化和抽象化。 但我们注意到,就在这平面化和抽象化之中,有一个女人体若隐若现,于是大家悉心一笑。我们都知道,陈源初先生的绘画有这样一种普遍风格,那就是所谓的“叠加绘画”,也就是在一幅绘画作品中将属于不同空间、时间的物体和场景单纯覆盖叠加,从而形成一种时空交错的具有哲学意味的视觉形式,这也使得他的作品尤其耐看。在借鉴了中国山水画的传统审美意识和运用了传统中国画的技法之后,陈源初先生照旧开始自己的绘画叠加,不同于以往相对写实的场景互相叠加的效果,作品《H401》传递出的是一种现代水墨的情趣。 第二,油画写实造型结合传统人物画的写意性和笔墨法,用油画这种视觉形式表现富有写意感的人体姿态。 作品《H402》很好的诠释了这个结合。 在对人体的刻画上,运用中国传统水墨的线和皴法,轮廓以重线勾勒,水墨用笔,枯笔渲染色调,忽略细部明暗、色彩、结构的刻画,以表现人体外形姿态为主,以写印象写感觉取代面对客观对象的写生。色彩上更为单纯,在大片“泼彩”上作线条勾勒,充分运用线条的魅力,既有逸笔泼彩的意境,又具有表现主义风格形式的痕迹。整体形象更为凝练,意境的传达也更典雅蕴藉,充满东方的、民族的情调。整个画面具有很浓的写意趣味。 反观作品《H401》,《H402》仿佛是《H401》的一个镜中影像,彻底的倒了个,将原先在《H401》中作为前景的抽象平面化泼彩移作背景铺垫,反将若隐若现的人体至于画面前景作为主要描绘对象,且人体面部朝向正好相反,动态也是相反的,整个画面的色调也是由《H401》的暖色调转入《H402》的冷色调。不知道是不是陈源初先生在自己的创作实践上进行的一个小小的游戏。 ... (5) A tonal colour plan is sketched out or marked up on a reference photograph. (6) A three tone plan is devised from these based on values of light #0-2, base #4-5 and dark #7-9.
