The Joyce Dutka Arts Foundation, Inc. (JDAF), is continuing its mission to support the arts by identifying talented artists who are in need of financial assistance in order to reach their goals. Each year since the JDAF's founding in 1999 with a bequest from President Joyce Dutka's husband, Solomon Dutka, Ph.d, the JDAF has donated funds to community arts groups (see Outreach) and sponsored a competition in the arts. Finalists are selected by qualified judges in the field and cash prizes are given to winning artists at venues suitable for the contest event. The JDAF has sponsored awards in the fields of dance choreography, music, both instrumental and vocal, visual art, including "works on paper" and playwriting.
This year the JDAF is sponsoring a contest in the visual arts in memory of our esteemed board member, Lenore Segans. The winning artists' works will be shown at Madison Avenue's Hollis Taggert Galleries (see Event Announcement/Application Forms).
