SALVAGE

The environmental inspired exhibit features the works of designers, painters, muralists, photographers and master gardeners. The exhibit planned for April 5th will commemorate Earth Day. “SALVAGE” reveres and takes pride about the importance of, reusing, or salvaging.

The art exhibition with an Earth Day theme will highlight artist who care about the Earth. The challenge for the artist and designers is to create their art from found objects and to reuse materials usually disposed of or otherwise considered “trash.” The artists included in this art show are both established and up-and coming.

April 5th will feature an experimental music project featuring found instruments made by band members from El Haru-Kuroi along side local Boyle Heights alongside groovy sounds of DJ PONCHO and Eric(NO)

Roots Deep Fellowship will kick off “Knights of Word” a monthly open mic session’s with dj’s, live painter’s, digital projections and other guest’s performer’s.

Final Closing event for “SALVAGE” will feature a recycling fashion show.

Con Sin Kill Radio streaming live on the web. Musical beats and song by Los Angeles very own hybrid MEZKLAH & Guest band

This event will be taking place on Saturday, April 26, 2008 from 7-10 pm. All proceeds for this event will go towards a solar panel fund for First Street Studios.

Ending with a hands-on perma-culture workshop at Caracol Marketplace Sunday April 27, 2008.
