> STATEMENT
Statement

Vulnerability is an unwanted consequence of my work. The onset is purely a kind of compulsive curiosity. I often don’t realize the risk I am taking until it’s too late. Incorporating candid narratives and revisiting childhood, I am reconstructing memory, and piecing together my identity through a reenactment of the past.

Cutting each piece of paper with the same hand tools I used growing up in garment manufacturing industry is and was a methodical activity to distract my mind. My expression has really become a form of denial. I see art as an argument for reality, and sometimes it is a document, or evidence of having tried to find resolution.
