Statement

Ting-Ting Cheng was born in 1985, Taipei, and graduated from University of Westminster in 2009, has based between London and Taipei since then. She is interested in using photography, text and sound to scrutinize various facets of everyday-life objects and encounters. In her projects, she sarcastically applies the ridiculous treatment of everyday life, altering the object or its context to unveil the hidden connotations.

As an outsider in the society in London, she is also inspired by the alienation and the distance she confronts. In her works, she examines the experience of being a ‘foreigner’ from different angles, exploring the concept of foreignness, identities, and stereotype of nationalities.
