Richard LaLiberte

I am an artist who combines figurative representation of nature with physical beauty and urban landscapes.  I create my artwork with acrylics, metallic oils, found objects and video.  By combining luminous light settings, water and sky I instill a sense of harmony, tranquility and balance.  My most recent paintings have acrylics with inset LCD screen infused with a smaller continuous moving image that assimilates the subject matter painted.  I have been influenced by the canyon like structures of high rise buildings and see them as monolithic shapes, which reminds me of the Southwest landscape.  There is a time lapse feeling with an immersive experience.  Artists that influenced my work include Raphael, Edward Hopper and Paul Outerbridge. 

Richard has worked for over 20 years as a Fine Artist and Illustrator with emphasis on painting, photography and animation.  He has travelled extensively and lives in Chicago IL.
