My art wants to be a militant
approach to life at 360 degrees, a form of art that finds its source from the
media of mass communication.
Art is a fundamental tool to
decode public information absorbed by people’s mind, from which the public
opinion is shaped, organized and monitored by the economic and political
My artistic research wants to
explore the human condition that reveals itself within the urban environment: a
textural, layered reality designed to follow desires and greed of its
I look at historical reference to
highlight the common point between what is past, what is present and what is
future, taking in serious consideration the fact that today was yesterday’s
future… I try to capture my sensations related to the subject of the artwork,
using mixed media. Screen-printing technique represents the gestures of human
being, a mix of both manual and mechanical approach to everyday life.
So, all the information absorbed
are historical elements, small parts of what is called History (with the big
H), the history made by people and not by insignificant dates used as
rhetorical slogans to be remembered once every decade.
People’ s activities fill the
space inside this infinite grassland called Time. History could be remembered
with facts recognized beyond historical dates because this depends from facts.
These are the mere product of gestures made by the human being. That’ s the
reason why art can really help to change things because it’ s like a factory
for infinite ideas that analyse, deconstruct and subvert the so called
People tend to design their space,
gesture, culture, and lifestyle.
A small group of designated people
(called establishment) act on behalf of the entire population, this acts
becomes laws and rules.
Arts creates another small group,
made of artists, designated by freedom and creativity, that uses art as
new way to give an alternative meaning to reality and history, actively
participating to the educational process of society, more than thousands of
meaningless rules and programs.
My art is born to develop itself
within the post-industrial urban environment, The metropolis becomes my initial
idea of research, focusing on concept of space and movement within the space.
Urban reality is a textural reality mage of layers, made of a world within
I use screen-printing technique
mixed with other media such as oil pastels, acrylics, pens, pencils and markers
on various surfaces like canvas, paper and wooden board.
Screen-printing represents an
important element in my creative process because it reflects the human
activity, a mixture of manual and mechanical daily gestures, from queuing at
the cash point until running while drinking our coffee, tea or cappuccino. So the
society appears with fixed structures, that’s why I deconstruct and modify the
“structures” of screen-printing through mixing different media on the same
surface. Acrylics and oil pastels mold together with the structure that is made
by the print, like a structure of a “printed society” in a multi-shaped,
kind of madness makes the cities like a big cauldron sparkling with refreshing
energies. I also take inspiration from the graffiti and street art culture,
where public walls became cynical mirrors of our post-industrialized, decadent
