Oscar Santillan (Ecuador, 1980) lives and works among places.
He received his MFA in Sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University and has attended residencies at Skowhegan and Seven Below. He taught at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. Santillan has recently been commissioned to create a work for a show at the Carrillo Gil Museum of Art in Mexico City. For this work, with the help of a psychic medium, he will recreate the last minute of the predicted moment of death of the exhibition curator. He has held solo and group exhibits at Odeon Foundation (Bogota, Colombia), Vogt gallery (NY, USA), Marilia Razuk gallery (Sao Paulo, Brazil), ICO Foundation (Madrid, Spain), DPM gallery (Guayaquil, Ecuador), Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art -SECCA (USA), Havana Biennial (Cuba), Guest Spot gallery (Baltimore, USA), Museum of Latin American Art -MoLAA (Long Beach, USA), Cuenca Biennial (Ecuador), Washington Project of the Arts Biennial (USA), Pierogi's Boiler (NY, USA), among other venues.
