BRUCE, METAL SCULPTOR
BRUCE, a self-taught sculptor born in 1963, explores mythology, astronomy, feminity, nature, symbology and sexuality. Environmentally aware, he cuts, assembles and models steel, bronze, copper, stainless steel, aluminium, titanium, mixed... to modify the textures and provide them with a new lease of life. He tanns steel by letting time make its marks. in oxidising the shades, metal takes on as it ages, from various shades of silver to verdigris and to rust: a profusion of elements and colours. Some of his pieces are lit-up by 22 carat gold leaves.
