I am drawn to the amalgamation of technological, natural and metaphysical forces in urban density; LA’s urban landscape fascinates me and I find meaning in areas which are underused, overlooked or even threatened. In my current work, the viewer is presented with a problem in the landscape by way of an out-of-place yet iconic architectural object - the lifeguard tower - questioning issues of land use and perceived value in the face of unbridled development or blatant neglect.
