Dan Gunn is an artist, writer and educator living and working in Chicago. He recieved his Bachelor's of Science in Physics in 2003 and attended School of the Art Institute of Chicago for his MFA in Painting completed in 2007.
As an artist he has exhibited at Lloyd Dobler, the Brown Triangle, Gallery 2, and the Rider Project :Emerald City. He also participates in an artist collaborative installation practice called "Gunnatowski" with Karolina Gnatowski. “Gunnatowski” was most recently shown at Northern Illinois University.

As an arts write he does art criticism for Newcity Magazine and has recently published essays for Proximity Magazine’s (con)Temporary Art Guide and Pr. As a collaboration with the Hyde Park Art Center he researched the recent history of the apartment gallery phenomenon in Chicago going back to the MCA's 1984 exhibition, Alternative Spaces. The history was published as "Artists Run Spaces: A Brief History since 1984". A collection of interviews with all of the participants of HPAC's "Artists Run Chicago" show will be out this fall from Threewalls / Green Lantern Press.
