It may be obvious that curators in the art world would appear pretty ridiculous even attempting to moonlight as professional basketball players, but the reverse, it turns out, is not true: professional basketball players can, in fact, moonlight as curators. The Flag Art Foundation is responsible for revealing this perplexity, and the show Size DOES Matter, curated by Cleveland Cavalier Shaquille O’Neal, proves that pro-ball players do not play the curation game like curators do.

Unfortunately, all the galleries in Madrid were closed last weekend in obeyance of the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. But fortunately, the city is so rich in art that there was still plenty to see.
The pick of the current exhibitions has to be the Juan Muñoz. Retrospective at the magnificent Museo Nacional de Arte Reina Sofia. If you missed the exhibition in London, then you are in luck, because I can think of few better museums in the world in which to wander, both indoors... [more]

Walking around in the Juan Muñoz exhibition is like a journey with strange people whispering, reading, looking or laughing. Silence and at the same time, conversation and loudness, are self-evident and exceed from the spaces.
Although he died quite young, Munoz acquired a particular artistic language. Visitors have to develop a real contact with the strangely displayed pieces to penetrate the artist’s world and make it their own.
