Eros has been painting since he was 8 years old.
Early on, Eros' mother understood his intuitive artistic abilities and she enrolled him in one of Tijuana's premiere art schools, "La Casa de la Cultura." There, Eros began exploring the world of fine art.
It wasn't until Eros moved to the United States, however, that his artwork began to express his own personal view of humanity and spirituality, and, in 2001, he began to seriously focus his vision on a world that he believes is at times locked in illusion.
Perhaps the true power of Eros' work is his ability to see beyond perceptional reality. His paintings often employ countless symbols and signs that tap into a greater collective consciousness, forms that depict the archetypal realm lying just below the skin of everyday ordinary awareness.
Three prominent artists have influenced Eros' artistic vision: Salvador Dali, Fridha Kahlo, and Francesco Clemente. Eros explains, "I'm attracted to these painters because they claim their position and express it through their art."With Dali, I'm drawn to his surrealism, of course, and to his erotic qualities, too, but I'm also drawn to his humanitarian philosophy. With Fridha Kahlo, it's the autobiographical elements, for sure, and with Clemente, it's his compositions."
Eros' drawings are particularly expressive, a spontaneous interplay between form and content that some say uniquely captures the subjects at hand. Others say the connections and cross-references between Eros' autobiographical content and his portraits of life are attributed to his own fantasies and fears. Someplace in between the two may be where the truth is actually found. That is, what becomes evident is that something we might only admit as our own experience in private has suddenly been exposed for all to see.
> WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
"Each year we host our annual Dia de Los Muertos cultural celebration. This year [in 2010] we had the pleasure to partner with Arte de Eros, and his sister company Arte Without Borders, as we also included a themed art exhibition. Beyond Eros' own work hanging in the show, he also curated the overall event, drawing top artists from throughout the Los Angeles art world (and beyond!). Our experience was so positive, that we have decided to offer Eros an ongoing curatorial role. Trabajo dios Eros. Y muchas gracias por sus esfuerzos!"

El Centro Del Pueblo
"Founded in 1781, El Pueblo de Los Angeles - the oldest surviving structure - is recognized as the birthplace of Los Angeles and the home of today's world famous Olivera Street. Located in the compound is the Galeria del Sotano, host to numerous culturally themed art exhibitions each year. This year, in celebration of Dia de los Muertos, we were thrilled to host the “El Baile del Venado” (dance of the deer) show, choreographed and performed by Eros Obregon - a splendid treat for the patrons of the night. Bravo Eros! You are welcome anytime you please!"

"I think what stands out for me with Eros (and with his partner Paul), is a profound generosity of spirit. You know when you attend an Eros art event, that you are being welcomed into a creative and giving family; one that reaches out to enfold all comers in an ever-inclusive manner; one that says, "Art is the Breath of Life, the Creative Force. Come in, Breathe Deeply, and Help Create a Better World."

"I really love my original print from Eros' Bus Stop series. I like the style of the image done in pastels - colors with harsh black accents and the exaggerated hand. The print quality is top notch. I'm equal parts pleased and impressed with the whole work."

"I count Eros as one of my treasured artist clients. When I look at Eros' art, I feel the movement of his brush strokes and they touch my soul. While he may just now be emerging with a more general recognition of his work, his art is nonetheless museum quality. This is an artist well on his way!"

"We hosted the introduction of the first of Eros' new line of Limited Edition Fine Art Prints. We can't tell you how well these works were received - both the artwork and the quality of the prints themselves. Later that same year (2009), we offered a second solo show, a "Bohemian night" filled with art and performance. Whenever Eros' work is hung, an energy is created; the artists, the poets, and the patrons, too, turn out! Salute, amore!""
