Designs on a Utopia/ Richard Cramp

Upon entering the gallery there is a water sculpture, in which a large wooden box sits high in the space with two copper pipes protruding from it from which water flows into a see-through tank below. This initially reminds me of a very large kitchen sink and tap, which, in association with the title Designs on a Utopia made me consider that the technologies that we design for ourselves could be perceived as striving towards a form of utopia; from water spring to well, to kitchen sink.
