Dave Beck is currently an assistant professor of Digital Art at Clarkson
University, in Potsdam, NY. He has also
taught sculpture and art history at University of Wisconsin – Madison. Beck's areas of specialization include
sculpture, 3D digital design & animation, digital photography and
WebArt. Beck was a distinguished
visiting artist exhibition & lecture series participant at UW-Marathon and
his artwork was chosen to represent UW-Madison at the Big Ten Conference Center
in Park Ridge, Ill. He was also selected for the yearlong apprenticeship grant
from St. Olaf College and served as a personal assistant to Aris Georgiades, a
well-known public artist and sculptor.
Beck's artwork is featured in the book "GameScenes. Art in the Age
of Videogames" (John & Levi, 2006), the first volume entirely
dedicated to Game Art, providing a detailed overview of the emerging field of
Game Art, examining the complex interaction and intersection of art and
videogames. Beck's work is also featured in several collections and
commissions.
