Artist Statement:
In my work I seek to express a strength of character and soul through a balance and emphasis of contrasts. I use and offset colors, blacks, whites, bold and delicate lines, realism and abstractions to orchestrate this. If done right, a work should dole out a good dose of humanism along with what it is trying to convey. This is what I am striving for, not just a academic exercise or an avant-garde intellect or even something just cleaver. But a human exchange and not a perfection because we are far from perfect and life is all about contrasts.

Bio
Born in Phoenix, Arizona his family moved to southern California when he was 9 years old. A self-taught artist who at the age of 15 was first inspired to draw in a high school art class. He has also lived in Alaska, Hawaii, San Francisco and was part of the emerging downtown Los Angeles art scene of the 1980's, where he lived and worked. With a good understanding of European, Asain and American masters, he works in a variety of styles, techniques and mediums which he combines to push his own art and vision forward.
