Early in his career Larry Brownstein traveled extensively to Asia and Europe photographing the people, landscapes and monuments. Subsequently, his attention turned to the American landscape, both natural and man-made. Currently, he focuses on the people, sub-cultures and cityscapes of Los Angeles and its environs.
Brownstein’s numerous credits include images in prestigious magazines such as National Geographic Traveler, Discover, Photo District News and Arthur Frommer’s Budget Travel; high-profile corporate clients such as Aveda Cosmetics; as well as calendars, greeting cards, corporate and travel brochures, etc. He was one of the principal photographers in the book America the Beautiful and Only in Los Angeles. He is featured in the book Best of Nature. His book Los Angeles, Where Anything is Possible was published in 2004. His book about homelessness The Midnight Mission was published in 2005.
He is Contributing Editor to Rangerfinder magazine and frequently contributes to PC Photo, AfterCapture and other magazines. Larry is represented by several international stock photography agencies including Getty Images, Alamy, and Ambient Images. Brownstein has exhibited widely including his recent show Hollywood: A Live Show Daily and has won a Nikon Photo Contest prize and other contests.
Brownstein is an accomplished wedding photographer who offers an eclectic style: a mix of fashion and photojournalistic images. His individual portraiture is distinguished by beautiful lighting. Larry is represented by several international stock photography agencies including Getty Images.
