Last weekend Rockaway Beach’s Fort Tilden opened its gates to a crowd of art connoisseurs, local creatives, and bronzed beach goers for a day of art and activism supporting Rockaway Beach. Still as large as the unbroken prairie horizon of big sky country, the American landscape has changed. The frontier has been parceled to farmers, cities and casinos, crisscrossed with highways, colonized by motels, and dotted with billboards.
