Sarbjit Kaur was born in Pune, India on 5th April 1979. She obtained a BA (Special with Distinction) in Political Science from the University of Pune, and a MSc in International Relations from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Having completed her studies and a brief stint in Academia, Sarbjit married and moved to Sri Lanka, where she devoted much time, among other things, to renewing her interest in art. She credits the renowned Sri Lankan artist Stanley Kirinde with having inspired her to embrace art as a profession.
Sarbjit describes herself as an "experimental artist" with a passion for exploring various themes including scenery, complex designs, portraits, wildlife, etc in realits form with multiple media including oil, water-colours and acrylic.
