As an artist I ofter prefer working in mixed media because this choice provides an opportunity to combine the unexpected and allows me to maintain continuity with ease.
Inspiration sometimes requires that I pursue different subject matters. Many times I concentrate on the abstract while other times I'm drawn to the figure.
The abstract Essentials series displays colorful strokes and lines charting a visible record of each work's creation. Whereas, the drawn figures in Lessons create only a murmur of contrast in their pale spaces while retaining a soft melancholy and fragile reality. While other works such as, Uncollected Fruit, can be reminiscent of the human struggle, and transience of life. Every step of the way each image is dictated by it's planned content. Of coures, spontaneity at times will be added to the mix.
