Ilana Aviv

   I was born in Tel aviv 1948.

    I am an Israeli sculptress specializing in wall sculptures.

     Most of the sculptures deal with the theme of inner emotions,

     The human spirit and soul and its complexity.I deal with the soft and fragile "inside".

     The partial revealing of the inside happenings and its enigma, and the tough

     and stiffened surface.  

      Their appearance is inspired by the breath-taking landscapes of the desert,

       and the send rocks near the sea.    They are abstract, sometimes very expressive

       and sometime my works tend to be more contemplative forms and minimal.

        The works are both energetic and serene.

        I also make outdoor sculptures that are mostly characterized as colorful.

        The thyme is as being  a woman - positive, optimistic and deal with the most important   

        things in life, giving up the unimportant.
