Having
lived
in
Japan
over
twenty
years
the
biggest
influence
on
my
work
comes
from
the
traditional
and
modern
culture
of
Japan.
My
style
has
been
described
to
me
as
an
American
Modernist
with
a
Japanese
base.
I
paint
from
memory,
my
imagination
or
imagery.
Beauty,
culture,
nature,
recovery
and
the
strength
of
the
human
spirit
are
the
subjects
I
am
interested
in
expressing
through
art.
For
many
years
I
physically
put
my
painting
aside
to
take
care
of
my
family
although
mentally
I
still
absorbed
and
observed
the
world
as
an
artist.
My
paintings
are
a
reflection
of
my
life
in
Japan
of
majestic
views
of
Mt.
Fuji,
the
sodality
of
koi
ponds,
and
emotions
just
beneath
the
cultural
mask
that
tie
humans
together.
I
will
continue
to
explore
art
as
homage
to
the
human
condition
and
the
common
experiences
that
unite
us.
