Sunita Lamba Painter - Sculptor Sunita Lamba has always had the tendency to experiment with different media for creating her nuanced images. Steel, stone bronze fiber glass, etc have found a magic touch in her hands. Although selecting very endearing and full of feeling themes, Sunita has always cared to see that her own soul and feeling are expressed through whatever medium she chooses to express herself. In the current show at the Triveni Gallery, Triveni kala sangam Sangam, Tansen Marg, New Delhi, she offered both stone and bronze sculptures that give totally different feeling to the viewer. She has moulded hard and cold steel into endearing male and female forms that assume an engaging stance and captivate the viewer with their tenderness; nuances of form and the impact of the material used. The steel cut outs from sunita Lamba compel you to appreciate a two dimensional form, simply because the feelingfull, cultured metal is made to say what the artist wishes to say - an endearing dialogue with the self as well as the viewer. This endearing quality of Sunita Lamba's work was appreciated even in Beijing during the Olympics art show. Scores of visitors were always glued to them appreciating their humanistic quality and a sensitive warm approach. Working mainly in the figurative mode, Sunita's efforts to bring out the best in the human figure and impart the best of the emotional bonds such as between mother and a child and the young lovers. The stances and postures Sunita imparts to her sculptures is simply is simply fascinating and endearing at the same time. She does not stress and strain in her creativity. It is simply an outflow from a sensitive soul that pours forth before the audience. Sunita's forms are generally massive –mass that represents the earth elements. In other words, Sunita chooses down to earth or real people for her work. With these endearing qualities one could gauge to response Sunita's works would receive from a sensitive audience. And it is the sensitive audience an artist an artist craves for in order to present his or her work. For no work comes to life without intelligent interaction with a sensitive audience. At present working with Oberoi Group of hotels as Graphic designer Sunita's First exhibition was in 1991 and since then she has displayed her works at major exhibitions.
