Paul has been working as a freelance artist since receiving a BFA majoring in Illustration from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA in 1998. His paintings often include stylized figures, faces and objects created by interpreting and manipulating the layers of paint beneath. He creates depth by contrasting the value, textures and opacity of the paint. In printmaking, he is more illustrative in approach and more clear in statement. His prints are primarily created using silk-screen and etching techniques. He has participated in several solo and group shows throughout San Francisco, New York City and Northern New Jersey. Exhibiting fine art paintings and prints at such venues as Dalva, Liberty Hall, L.I.T.M., The Antagonists Gallery,Local Project Gallery and The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. In San Fransisco, Paul created event posters for Bill Graham Present's Fillmore West and Warfield Auditorium for such artists as Fiona Apple, Blur and the JohnSpencer Blues Explosion. On the East Coast, Paul has created design and illustrations for Carnegie Hall's Weill Auditorium and the record label SaturdayMorning Records. In addition to his freelance work, he is co-owner and instructor at Speak-Easy Art Gallery and is currently enrolled at Kean University's graduate fine art program.
