Statement
Passion. Power. Movement. These trigger my urge to paint, to define the intangible and infinite through color, texture, and lines. It might come from the light on a street corner in San Francisco, an image of a bullfighter in Spain, or the landscapes in an Australian film I’m watching in London.
Wherever I might be living, once the emotional trigger kindles an idea for a painting, it can simmer in my mind for a few hours, or years, before the right moment comes to put it on raw canvas. With my eyes closed, I take my first brush stroke (all that intimidating white space!), which unleashes the captivating odyssey of what follows.
I have an irrepressible desire to pass onto canvas impressions, feelings, impulses and memories derived from the memory of the vast open scenery of my many trips, a source of constant inspiration and meditations on the world around me.
When I paint I become euphoric, electrified by the same feelings of passion and power that I experience in the color, light and texture of an abstract landscape. If I do not paint from my heart, and sense a feeling being transmitted as I paint, I’ll start over.
My abstract landscapes move through the distance and perspective between landmasses and the flow of air.
I am ultimately moved by the desire to create something tangible from what is not, to achieve a sense of the infinite.

Michele Krauss born and raised in Santiago Chile, in 1987 she moved to the United States. She studied Interior Architecture and Interior Design in Milan, London, San Francisco, Miami, Madrid and New York; for each of these cities corresponds a stage in life, a classroom and an opportunity to travel, and at each one, the artist received special emotions, intense and stimulating.
Self-taught dotted of a deep artistic passion, Michele Krauss-who has always refused to follow academic rules- proved irrepressible desire to pass on canvas impressions, feelings, impulses and memories derived from the memory of vast open scenery of South America but also that of her many trips, a source of constant inspiration and meditations on the world around her.
Her abstract landscapes capture our gaze, but still more to our emotions, aroused by the refined and harmonious chromatics compositions, structure and space that give depth and in such way defining her works. The artist feels at ease changing the wide range of shades that stand out and dialogue in the space of the canvas while the color - compiled by quick and light brushstrokes- takes on a vibrant texture, sometimes tangible, and evokes in our minds the vision of beautiful boundless scenery.
Her works, visual and emotional impact, in fact, recall with emphasis indelible memories, memories of places that are projected on the canvas, the viewer, while taking only one trace pounds in a long journey of color, rhythm and imagination.
A band of color painted over the horizon line now stylistic mark of her works and perhaps a sign of hope –outlines plans, space and color within the framework while the use of materials such as sand, powdery impasto, plaster and wax, materializes the distance and perspective between the heaven and earth giving a sense of infinity and movement.
