Earning my BFA at the School Of Visual Arts while studying fine art and illustration I never would have guessed I would become interested in Digital Photography as my medium of choice.  As technology advanced it had become more and more compatible with my life style providing me with the ability to express my vision and grow as a fine artist without all the confines of being in the studio daily.  

My involvement with gardening the last few years has fueled my appreciation of nature which encompasses my latest work.  After receiving a small gift, a handful of bulbs which was a token of friendship by an acquaintance I became enthralled with the wonders of life which enfolded before me.  It became clear I must capture this fleeting beauty for all to experience.  My work reflects the views I find in nature utilizing unusual perspectives in which the images created are interesting at every vantage point.  The information is somewhat abstract to keep the viewer intrigued and lure them in for closer examination. Each photograph produced is visually stimulating with a strong composition and an emphasis to detail.  The subject is recorded under natural lighting conditions which is then enhanced in the digital darkroom.  At times the photographs produced can be an exaggerated artistic interpretation resulting in a unique work computer generated.  The objects of interest are never stiff or stagnant.  They are captured spontaneously which adds to the intimacy reflected in each work. The character and identity remains but is enhanced introducing a new way of experiencing what would be considered common place.  Bringing a new tone to the ordinary while simplifying the basic components and then reintroducing it at a heightened intensity is fundamental vision to the works produced. 

The Garden Series is home grown lending itself to the personal approach of representing the individuality of the subject.   This is a work in progress and with each new day a new moment is created to be shared.  

Professional quality archival materials are utilized to produce work which is meant to viewed and enjoyed for generations.
