Michael Souter, Fine Art
Michael Souter is a painter, photographer and graphic designer who works and resides in New York City. He is best known for NARCISSIST, his one-man show, exhibited at the Bronx Museum of Art in 2005 – a unique series of “Daggers”, “Wraps” and “Mirrors” in which he uses unconventional pairings of acrylic, typographical elements, photographic images, reflective surfaces and etched text, to reveal - with the emotive intensity of one who has first-hand experience - the anger, pain and humiliation of a narcissistic relationship.
Michael Souter was born in 1953 in Detroit Michigan. He holds a B.A. in Painting from Western Michigan University. His work has been exhibited in Torino Italy, New York, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, Detroit, and Geneva. He currently lives and works in New York City.

Michael Souter has over 30 years experience as a creative director overseeing all phases of brand identity design and implementation. His expertise lies in the assessment, development, and implementation of visual identification systems to help companies build high performance brands.
Michael brings clients a broad understanding of both the commercial and corporate demands placed on brand identity. He has managed projects ranging from corporate identity and system applications for Coty Ltd., IBM and Lancaster to print design, product packaging and in-store marketing for Isabella Rossellini’s Manifesto, IBM, Apple, Oroton, and Coca Cola.
He previously worked for Lippincott Marguiles, Landor Associates and Citicorp Communications Design. He was a principal with Coleman Souter, Creative Director / Partner of Storm Design, and Creative Director, Future Brand, Luxury Goods Division.
