BIOGRAPHY ///

Sara Blaylock is from Wisconsin, was schooled in California, and now lives in Massachusetts. Her work has screened internationally at film festivals and galleries.

 

ABOUT THE WORK ///

I make work that highlights the most basic tenets of interpersonal communication. Instead of having one specific narrative or meaning, my projects suggest the possibility of several interpretations of the same exchange. Other works delete fundamental elements of communication (image, sound, etc.) to emphasize or redefine meaning. Recent works with maps consider how they, too, serve as a communicative tool.
