Statement
Danh Vo (b. 1975, Bà Ria, Vietnam, lives and works in Berlin) creates performance and installation works based on personal and cultural experiences and histories. When he was a child, Vo’s family fled Vietnam and settled in Denmark. His work draws on personal and historical artifacts in a sublime creation of individual identity while instigating historical tensions through recontextualizations. He received the Hugo Boss Prize in 2012 and is represented by Isabella Bortolozzi Galerie, Berlin.
