New Art Fair - Parallax
Posted 7/1/11

I have had a great couple of weeks, and it always amazes me how things 'turn up' when you dont expect them. I always endeavour to take part in a lot of things, sometimes too many, but unless you put yourself forward no-one knows you're there ! Having said that ...Prospective clients seem to be finding me through my own website, at last, which is fabulous. I have also been shortlisted for the Cork Street Open again - exhibited two last year. The W.London Open Studios weekend wasnt as successful as it co... [more]

I have had 2 big  etchings shortlisted for the Cork Street Open Exhibition in London - final selection August 3.    Also have 2 different etchings in the A4 Printmakers competition in Cornwall - judging in October some time -  so it's all GO .  It's so great that efforts pay off, sometimes. [more]

Chelsea - done and dusted
Posted 6/12/10

Just returned from London, where I had a stand at the Untitled Artist Fair. Pretty good turn out of over 7,000 visitors, over the 3 days.  Sales were low all round - that old economic situation again - lots of admiring glances but not much opening of wallets. I did sell a few thank goodness, and the feedback was great,  so not a complete disaster. I also made a couple of useful contacts , which may lead to future project work or exhibition opportunities. Exciting stuff. [more]

Ramadan Exhibitions in Abu Dhabi
Posted 7/27/09

All sorts of things seem to be on the horizon this Ramadan (begins Aug. 20th ish). Normally this place clears out in the summer, and everything grinds to a sweaty halt,  but this year people seem to be making an effort to entertain those that are left.Firstly I've decided to take part in the Ramadan art & Crafts Fair, at the Le Meridien Hotel.1-5th September - 6pm-midnight each night ! It is to take place in what was the  turkish restaurant - with fabulous vaulted painted ceiling - I  must be mad... [more]

Chelsea here I come
Posted 5/15/09

I have booked a stand at the Untitled Art Fair, in London, for the beginning of June 2010 - how's that for real forward planning !  Apart from just wanting to be part of something more 'international' , it seems sensible to try and start making more UK contacts. After all we will be going back to live permanently in the UK eventually - maybe even in the next 2 or 3 years. Brighton seems the likely place at the moment - good art scene, Festival in May June with open studios event , easy access to... [more]

Ancient and Modern
Posted 11/2/08

I have a liking for rust !   I love the magic of it - the rich crusty colour of it. I have been doing some assemblages incorporating painting with rusty objects , found in the street. I was recently kicking through some sand, at a petrol station (as you do) and found a strip pf metal with the embossed words 'SANDTRAP'. There it was, just waiting to be picked up and put in a picture. I couldn't believe the serendipity of it. [more]
