This show is a lot more fun than the description would have you think.  The large piece in the back room alone is worth a visit to the gallery.  Two huge water-filled heavy glass tanks on tall pedestals each contain a miniature mountain range.  The mountains are covered with minute air bubbles created when the tanks were filled with water.  A bright light above each tank creates reflections of the mountains both within and between the two tanks, which means the piece expands and changes as you mo... Flipping through the photo books at each station is like leafing through the pages of someone else's diary, each one offering an intimate look into a very personal, personalized experience. Too busy for the great outdoors?  No worries, Carol Selter's The Personal Hiking Project at Gallery 16 will take you there. Selter began The Personal Hiking project in 2007 asking friends and associates where they would go if they could go on a hike. Their responses mapped out her hikes. Now, as we enter Gallery 16, we see before us four walls of large format photographic portraits, each a person obviously enthralled as they look through a book they are holding. The book titles vary, "Cheryl's... [more]
