Michelle is a curator and art organizer based in New York City. She is currently Director of EFA Project Space—a program of the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts—which is a cross-disciplinary exhibition and event venue that critically engages various aspects of the creative process. She created the Project Space program on the basis that art is directly connected to the individuals who make it, to the communities they are a part of, and to every day life, and that we must continue to reveal, refresh and reinforce these connections.
Michelle also makes artwork which has been shown minimally and sporadically in New York, but more commonly exists in personal collections of dozens of peers, admirers, and strangers. Her aim, for the most part, has been to create work that exists and can be distributed in life outside of the gallery setting, seeking out ways to create individualized experiences for her audience.
