Severin's archetypal expressionism

Constantin Severin is the theorist and practicer of a new concept launched by him on the contemporary art scene, the Archetypal Expressionism. He had the idea to invent this concept after a serious study of the most representatives Romanian artists of the 20th century, from Brancusi to Maitec and Tuculescu, but also inspired by the works of some Modern masters like Klee and Mondrian. He published the first notes about this concept in 2000 and 2001. 

This concept was agreed by the art experts from EuroNews, who included his first solo exhibition of archetypal expressionism, ''Text and Time'' , in his hometown Suceava (Art and History Museum) and Stuttgart (Nahvision Gallery), in 2004, on the EuroNews Agenda with the major cultural events in Europe. He was  the first visual artist from Romania with a solo exhibition included on EuroNews Agenda. In January 2009 his solo exhibition ''The Alchemical City'', Lascar Vorel Art Gallery, Piatra Neamt, Romania was also promoted by EuroNews.

Many Romanian and foreign cultural journalists, some art critics and teachers from universities in Romania or abroad wrote about his own concept, the archetypal expressionism (his solo exhibition from Stuttgart was presented by the German art historian, Brigitte Moritz). 

Constantin Severin has funded on artmesh the Archetypal Expressionism Group, with 42 members, very good international emergent artists. And the best of them are really amazed by his concept, a true catalyst for their future artworks. If someone is looking on the net, he can already find mentions about this concept, used by film or musical critics from UK (one from BBC), as a prove it's a serious concept with a good future in the sphere of visual arts, too. And Constantin Severin is the first artist to use and impose it in the world of visual arts.

When he first wrote about it in 2000 he thought that he also invented the term, the archetypal expressionism, because he did'nt find it on Google, but now he is not so sure, because he did'nt read all the books and the magazines in the world ... But it's for sure that he has invented his own vision and he wrote and published his own statement on it and ... this is already a page for art history!

Constantin Severin is the Romanian creator and theorist of a new concept on the contemporary art scene, Archetypal Expressionism. A member of the Writers' Union of Romania, he is a journalist, writer and art critic, and has published nearly 30 art reviews and articles, as well as several books of poetry. In addition to numerous awards and honors, he is also a UNESCO Ambassador of euro-integration through art.
