My work fits comfortably within the tradition of Mid-century Modern Abstraction. My paintings are abstract because Abstraction provides a very direct expression, and it has a history that interests me. My paintings are untitled because I don't wish to impose any specific or limiting association on them.
My paintings can be found in corporate and private collections in the U.S. and Europe, including the corporations IBM, Johnson and Johnson, and the Law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom. I have participated in many gallery shows in New York City and the vicinity. Some of the Artists that I have exhibited with are, Thomas Nozkowski, Stephen Westfall, Ron Janowich, Julie Gross, Thornton Willis, Sharon Gold, Kathryn Muehlemann, Dara Keeton, Fontaine Dunn, Jill Baroff, Bill Pangburn, Renee Magnanti, Michael Bisbee, Jim Napierala and Thor Rinden.
I have an MFA degree from Brooklyn College and BFA degree from the Maryland Institute, College of Art, both in Studio Painting. I studied with the artists Lee Bontecou, Phillip Pearlstein, and Allan D'Achangelo.
