Sapira Cheuk’s work revolves around issues of the body and women’s sexual experiences by incorporating traditional Sumi Ink painting techniques and geometric elements to portray the sensual yet grotesque aspects of sexual experience while building an alternative narrative of bodily desires. Cheuk has been exhibited in over 50 exhibitions including Orange County Contemporary Art Center, Riverside Art Museum, Rochester Contemporary Art Center, Wignall Museum of Contemporary Art and The Robert & Frances Fullerton Museum of Art. She received her BA at University of California Riverside and is an MFA candidate at California State University San Bernardino. She lives and work in Southern California.
