Walker Thisted earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University in 2007 under the supervision of Dean MohsenMostafavi, has worked for Atelier Seraji Paris, Nagle Hartray Chicago, and directly for Bill Pedersen at Kohn, Pedersen, and Fox New York from 2007 until 2009. Walker earned an MFA from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago with a focus in Film, Video, and New Media and since graduating in 2011 has worked as an independent artist, freelance still and moving photographer, director, editor, interior designer, and experience producer.
In 2007, Walker founded Naught Gallery (www.imageassociation.net) to present his own work as well as the work of emerging artists. In 2013, Nikolas Lund joined Walker in founding Naught Company in order to offer cultural consulting services. Beyond Naught Gallery, Walker has shown work in Chicago with Flatfile Galleries and One Wall Gallery, in New York at Gallery 392 Broadway, on the campuses of the University of Wisconsin and Cornell, at the Cornell College of Architecture, Art, and Planning, Hartell Gallery, and at the Palazzo Lazaroni in Rome.
In 2012, Walker, Nikolas Lund, Kahil Elzabar, and Lucy Slivinski co-foudned Sense Culture, LLC in order to develop web and mobile applications designed to connect producers and consumers of culture more efficiently. Their initial efforts are centered on producing Curated Experiences that help provide a broader through-line and greater context to an evening, day, week, or month.
In 2013, Walker launched a new line of art work under the alias Theo Wit (theowit.net) in order to create site specific work. At the same time, Walker began teaching a seminar on Global Cinema at North Central College in Naperville.
