Julie Brown Smith is a painter and printmaker based in Monterey, California. Her work, which includes ink on canvas paintings and hand-pulled limited edition relief prints, has been exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions, most recently at California Center for the Arts Museum, Escondido; Brickbottom Gallery, Somerville, Massachusetts; Gordon College, Massachusetts; Pharmaka Gallery in Los Angeles; Harvard Musical Association in Boston; The Print Center, Philadelphia; and Naestved International Print Exhibition, Ronnebaeksholm Arts Center, Denmark.
Her work has also been featured on several independent films and television series, including Six Feet Under and Weeds on HBO, as well as in Vogue magazine.
Julie Brown Smith's work is in over two hundred private, public and corporate national and international collections, including those of Eric Clapton, Mr. and Mrs Justin Dart, Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations of Boston, the Black Ministerial Alliance of Greater Boston, and Central Boston Elder Services.
Her work is represented by Carmel Art Association, Carmel, California, and ArtPic Gallery, North Hollywood, California. She is a member of The Boston Printmakers and The Los Angeles Printmaking Society.
