Mochammad Fatchi Baradja (born 1989) is an young Indonesian artist who lives and works in Bandung, Indonesia. Primarly working in the mediums of printmaking and drawing. His works explores religiosity, nasionalism based on his personal and family experiences.
Artwork that i worked on so far take themes about spiritual and religious tend to be specialized social State against me and my personal encounter and encounter in everyday life. The making of religious-themed works of art and spiritual me during these tend not to seek a settlement of the question of who is (and will continue) to be faced were a religion (in this case, I have always raised the issue in the religion of Islam). The approach that I emphasize in my artwork that I created aiming to open or invite apresiator to re thinking will be ongoing events in their environment.
Living in Indonesia that the majority converted to Islam and raised in families that tend to be strict towards learning and the practice of the religion of Islam makes me have the perspective of religion tend to be different from others.Conflicts within Islam and its adherents ( the Muslims ) tend to be never ending . Paradigms that arise will be the result of various events and incidents caused tensions relentless in Indonesia or in the world globally .
Islam is a bit much to have enough role central in the development of social, cultural and civilization in Indonesia. Since the time of his coming through rituals and rituals of both directly and indirectly on the trade brought new colors on order of life as it continues to grow and change until this immature. The relationship between religion and believers in my opinion has a special and unique relationship which is sufficiently abstract to be explained but is tied with strong by one word: faith. Making religion is a matter which is always interesting to be discussed and studied further.
Departing from the things I was interested to elaborate spiritual values and religion ( Islam ) in the artwork . Personally I think the art in a particular point could inspire and change a situation . At an extreme , the art is able to spawn a revolution of thought that could lead to a change in either the author or the audience in a small or large scale .
