Matt Price is a writer, editor and curator from Birmingham based in London and Leeds. Following a degree in art history from the University of Nottingham and an MA in curating from the Royal College of Art, he started his career as an editor for Hans Ulrich Obrist before being appointed Managing Editor of Flash Art International, Milan. He has since worked as Deputy Editor of ArtReview and Publications Manager at Serpentine Gallery. In addition to Flash Art and ArtReview, he has also written for magazines including A-n, Art Monthly, Frieze and Modern Painters.
He is now working on a freelance basis as a writer, curator and editor and has produced publications for clients including Phaidon, Rizzoli, and Heni Publishing, including Vitamin P2, Phaidon's major new international anthology of contemporary painting. Price has contributed texts to publications on artists including Anish Kapoor, Adrian Ghenie and Justin Mortimer. He has curated exhibitions for Jeremy Deller at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris; Adrian Ghenie at Plan B, Berlin; The Witching Hour at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery; Under the Radar - Paintings by Serban Savu at Pitzhanger Manor, London; and Some Domestic Incidents - an exhibition of new painting from Britain for the Prague Biennale 5 and MAC Birmingham.
