Statement

I am writing experimental haikus in its traditional format as commentary on modern day communication manifested through social media outlets. Currently my haikus are available online in black and white on artslant, tumblr, twitter and instagram @haikutub. As I continue to expand the medium of my art and develop the haikus as physical pieces, I intend on making them available as prints or black spray-painted text on white tiles. I studied art history and contemporary art theory, but this is my first project as a practicing artist inspired by the likes of John Baldessari, Joseph Kosuth and Christopher Wool.
