Biography

David A. Willis is an emerging art critic and independent curator based in New York City.

His primary interests include Photography, Video, Collage, Multi-Media, and Installation. He has published with The Brooklyn Rail, Artslant.com, and NYArtsmagazine.com, and is a founding editor of the new art criticism web journal Theforgetory.org

David recently served as curatorial assistant to independent curator and publisher of The Brooklyn Rail, Phong Bui, to organize the Come Together: Surviving Sandy, Year 1 exhibition for The Dedalus Foundation at Industry City, in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, which Jerry Saltz rated the Best Show of 2013: www.cometogethersandy.com

David holds a BA in Cultural Anthropology from Columbia University and an MFA in Art Criticism and Writing from The School of Visual Art.
