Statement

Jazz-minh Moore is a New York based artist, with a BFA from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, and a MFA from California State University, Long Beach.  Her interest lies in the complicated dialectic between ‘nature’ and ‘culture’ within contemporary society.

Moore has had solo shows in New York, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Paris, and been featured in various publications, including Whitewall Magazine, New American Paintings, the Village Voice, Interview Magazine, the New York Times, New York Magazine, and Zingmagazine.  She has received numerous grants, including a NYFA Fellowship and an Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant.  She has been involved in arts outreach in both New York and California, through the Time In Children's Arts Initiative and Artsbridge Scholar Program.  In 2009, she co-founded the NYC based art collective, Gutbox, which will have it's third solo show open this Spring on the Lower East Side.  Moore is represented by Lyons Wier Gallery.
