Statement

I grew up in the 1970’s in a small socialist suburb outside Copenhagen, Denmark.  I spent my childhood surrounded by intellectual academics of anti- capitalist ideologies; this atmosphere, immersed in dealing with taboos and social issues, helped create my social awareness and outspoken nature at an early age.

I use those early insights every day, examining dysfunctional human emotion to fabricate sculptural installations.

My art opens up closets of taboos dealing with an uncomfortable history of human kind; functioning as a tool it transforms human stories into visual memories.  My work process consists of obsessive repetition, a necessary time to connect the past of my chosen material with my narrative content.

I work conceptually and let my creative ideas guide my choice of media.  Since 2003 I have mainly worked in reclaimed materials; recognizing that found objects already contain unknown stories for me to unearth.
