Most of my sensibilities as an artist were formed over decades as a musician, and from years of being a scenic painter and set builder for film and television. I prefer to collaborate. I like to work fast and throw the work away rather than store it and hold it precious. I enjoy making kinetic sculptures and installations that live (and die) on a timeline. My goal is often to create an aesthetically charged object that will destroy itself during a social gathering. I prefer to continue to explore new territory and challenge myself, rather that presenting a cohesive body of work that would translate into an identity or art career. Most of my work is undocumented. Thanks for looking! JL
