Sarah Horvat

I am a published freelance illustrator and award-winning artist based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. I embrace a Renaissance-man approach reflected among my diverse interests and deeply rooted passions. My portfolio ranges from realistic to abstract, literal to allegorical, with lyrical lines, organic forms and visual textures. Included are oil and watercolor paintings, stone sculpture, pastel and oil pastel, charcoal, mixed media, and photography, with a recent focus on drawing, watercolor, ink and printmaking.

Eve is my greatest muse through whom I explore the first woman, wife, mother, self. It is a slow dissection of a conscientious woman who freely chose knowledge with the allusion of power. Each Eve drawing is a journey filled with truths and allusions of identity, life and soul while foreshadowing future events.

I am a member of the Society of Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI and SCBWI-WI), the prestigious National Association of Women Artists (N.A.W.A.), and Williamsburg Art & Historical Center Salon. I was a Featured Artist of the Month and SCOPE Miami 2010 Top 50 competition winner (Digital Exhibition) via MyArtSpace.com, Miami, Florida.
