Dario Srbic was born 1974 in Bosnia and Herzegovina and lives and works in Berlin, Germany. He arrived to art practice through engagement with philosophy and art theory. Instead of written re- plies to what he reads and perceives, he uses photography and experimental film to formulate re- sponses or to post new questions. Infused with ontological curiosity about the world and our- selves, his photography is staged and has a strong performative character, influenced by moving images and contemporary dance. Subject matter is often displaced, in abstract setting. e themes he works with are his own experience and perception of the world and the discrepancy of those related to others; his relation towards his own work - its importance and attachment to his own experiences; the randomness in the process of the creation of the work, and touching and expan- sion of one artistic medium towards another.
