Shervone Neckles currently resides in New York and is an art educator at The Joan Mitchell Foundation. She has held residencies in areas as diverse as the Youlou Arts Foundation in St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the West Indies, The Center for Book Arts in New York and The Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine. Recent awards include a grant from The Joan Mitchell Foundation and the Cornelia Tomas Scholarship from Teacher’s College at Columbia University. Her work has been shown worldwide in both solo and group exhibitions. She earned a M.A. in art education at Teacher’s College at Columbia University, a M.F.A. in studio art at Queens College and a B.F.A. in studio art at The College of New Rochelle.
