Vigo .

Geneviève Gauthier "Vigo" was born in Montreal in 1979.  College degree in humanities with an option in visual arts from Rosemont College and the Cégep régional de Lanaudière in l’Assomption. Bachelors’ degree in remedial studies from the Université de Montréal. Pursued additional technical and artistic training in photography at Marsan College.

My technique is liberally inventive !  I borrow from the world of fashion; gems, sequins, glitters and lace.  Pearlised paint, playing cards, paper, stencil and transfers are used among other things for the crystallization  of my breath and vitality on the canvas.  I am a happy painter and I love colors ! ;)  Through paint, I transpose with forceful energy the emotions experienced in life. With my art, I express states of mind, real or imagined - it is so good to dream - characterised by naivety, motion and color. Music is part of my creative process, it sometimes makes the paintbrush, or even the artist, move to its rythm ! According to the mood, the colors, the notes and the ispiration, the magic operates on a canvas which will never be the same.
