""I create interdisciplinary work by repurposing found and ready-made objects spontaneously encountered during my daily life.  I interact with some of these objects on-site converting them into ephemeral sculptures or “street interventions” that disrupt their surroundings. Other materials are brought into my studio where they are incorporated into sculptures and whole room installations that are endlessly in-flux. By playfully transforming and combining objects, I blur the boundaries between mediums; this act investigates informality, improvisation and new forms of abstract assemblage. Precariously constructed works result from a process that is playful, embraces chance and mostly uses what is at hand. Although containing recognizable remnants from the everyday, my compositions lack a specific narrative— they become unfamiliar abstractions for the viewer to make personal associations.

To keep my practice dynamic, having a “nomadic” approach is essential. Therefore, I choose different settings to work at for delimited periods of time. Each project provides me with the opportunity to start again from an empty and architecturally different space. Moreover, having to explore new surroundings allows me to constantly feel like newcomer, essential for the creation of the site-specific work I make. A storage unit is the only space that remains constant in my practice; in it, I paradoxically hold on to ephemeral materials that I refuse to let go. When used again, these materials become part of new creations that enclose their history as objects, but also as components of previous works of arts.

My work utilizes the excess from society, emphasizing an overly consumerist culture where materials are easily disposed of. Through mark-making and sculptural gestures, I attempt to own objects that lie on no-man’s land: publicly abandoned yet unclaimed and overlooked by most of the people. Working both on the street and the studio, I ask the viewer to examine how worthless materials can present themselves as unexpected art experiences.
